Stoke's chances of signing Shane Long have been boosted after Hull signed Jelavic, meaning the are no longer in need of a striker.

Price of £5 million for Long

No deal is dead until January 31st. I wouldn't say the Doiuf deal is off just yet.
I also don't rate Long, I'd see him as a bit of a panic buy; 1 goal every 4ish games at West Brom is not a great record.
We also don't know if Sparky or Cartwight has any other strikers lined up that we don't yet know about.

Getting frustrated and worried about this transfer window. The only striker that we have signed is Guidetti, and he isn't a proven striker in the BPL, plus he has been injured for a looong time.

We need a striker that can score at BPL level. Diouf, I think is a one hit wonder, having a good season and then he will do nothing. Much like Michu.

Would have liked Long and now no Diouf this window.

I give up!

What strikers have we lined up that can score and will join us with 2 weeks?!?

Wouldn't mind Steven Taylor, but he annoyed me after distracting Begovic, so I doubt that he would fit in well with the fans.

Mancienne is a possibility, but he is another unproven player.

Long would've been the player for me, but no. we had to leave him for Hull to get!

Plus KWJ is pretty much a different team's player, refusing to play for us.

Apparently this Asomah Gyan forward might be coming to stoke. On £150,000 a week, and does not deserve it. I'd be happy if we signed de Jong! He'd be a lot better than Asomah Gyan on loan!

I can't stand the 'proven in the premiership' argument.
How many players have been good one season and rubbish the next? Benteke, Michu, Berbatov and Ba were all in the top 10 last season. Only Benteke features in the top 20 this season - tied at 19th with Charlie Adam.
Also any player that is so called 'proven' instantly costs a couple of million more for what is essentially the same risk as buying from a foriegn league.

Have some faith in Hughes he has got so many players playing better than that what they were under Pulis i. e. Adam, Cameron and Whelan and has also brought in Assaidi and Ireland who have made a good impact and Arnie who is learning and looks to be a decent player soon. He has just brought in Guidetti who has a natural talent for goalscoring and will find the net. He has shown that we can play well like the Liverpool and Chelsea game but also we have had no luck and been numerously cheated i. e. Norwich, Liverpool and Newcastle game which we all lost due to controversial decisions. Once we find a bit of consistency then we can start to push for top 10 but until then don't rush things.
